Max Verstappen 'hopes to be sick' for new 75 Live event in London –

Formula 1 is organizing a very special event next February to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the competition. For the first time, all drivers, principles and new cars will be presented under one roof, in a live event open to the public in London.

Max Verstappen, almost assured of becoming world champion again, perhaps as early as next week, will undoubtedly be at the event. Unless, of course, he's sick…and he hopes so.

During a livestream where he was playing Call of Duty with TeamRedline, he was asked about the event. His response is priceless.

“What is 75? What are you talking about? I don't watch F1… I hope I'm sick that week,” he joked.

Max Verstappen doesn't like showbiz around Formula 1.

Verstappen is known for his reluctance to participate in big events and shows. Last year, he was one of the few drivers to publicly criticize the big event the Las Vegas Grand Prix held for its first-ever race. “To me, you can all skip these things,” he said, as recorded by SkySports.

“It's not about the singer, it's just the standing there, you look like a clown. I just like to always focus on the performance side of things.”

“I don't like everything around, anyway. I know, of course, that in some places they are part of it, but let's say it's not in my interest,” a- he declared last year.

Verstappen also stopped giving press conferences for a while, after being sanctioned by the FIA… for using expletives.
