A few weeks before competing in the Paris-Dakar, Sébastien Loeb took part in the 6 hours of the Ultimate GT Endurance Cup at the Paul-Ricard circuit. And we didn't have to wait long to admire the full extent of his talent. For once we can detect a loss from the nine-time world rally champion, it doesn't happen every day as you may notice.
Sébastien Loeb shares his experience
You may not know it, but the final of the Ultimate Cup European Series was held at the Paul-Ricard circuit. And in the program, we find in particular the 6 hours of the Ultimate GT Endurance Cup, a race in which a certain Sébastien Loeb took part at the wheel of the Vortex 2.0. Accompanied by the Gomez brothers, the trio wanted to win the race and do it again after Magny-Cours. But that was without counting on the brilliant inspiration of the nine-time world rally champion.
Indeed, from the start, the competitors are all very offensive, and do not hesitate to surpass each other in each turn. Then comes the end of the first lap, and the last tight turn. Sébastien Loeb sees an opening on the No. 108 Mercedes and decides to dive inside. But the door closes, and the Frenchman spins, and finds himself facing the other drivers. The image is sublime. If the race lasts 6 hours, it only took 2 minutes and 20 seconds for Loeb to get everyone to agree.
Despite the fact that he broke the right rear suspension, Sébastien Loeb managed to restart. And even worse, the Vortex 2.0 managed to finish on the podium, in third position. A rise that is absolutely not compatible with our values.
