After a very complicated weekend in Brazil, still without a solution with his Mercedes, Hamilton said he was ready to give a million dollars to the person capable of solving the problem on his car.
Lewis Hamilton had another difficult weekend at the wheel of his Mercedes, scoring just one point across the entire Sprint weekend, while teammate George Russell looked like he could challenge for victory at the start of the Grand Brazil Price.
Although Hamilton recognizes that “one of the cars ran much better”, what makes it say “that there is still potential”, the seven-time world champion took stock of a weekend to say the least “bad”.
“[Samedi] was terrible”, he indicates. “[Dimanche] was terrible. [Samedi] was bad. Qualifying was bad. The Sprint race was bad. The car was bad all weekend.”

Hamilton : “This is really not acceptable”
“Obviously it's devastating to have these bad races in the second half of the season,” continues Hamilton. “But all I can say is we’re trying.”
“But this is really not acceptable. It's really not enough. And we must take our responsibilities. I must take my responsibilities. But I drive, I do the best with what I have.”
“The car was the worst this weekend, and I don't know why. We'll have to find out what it is. But the mechanics did a great job getting here this [dimanche]doing pit stop practice at 4 a.m. and doing all the work they did on the car throughout the weekend.”
Asked why his car was bad, Lewis Hamilton obviously didn't know how to answer this question, but he still offered a nice deal, while laughing.
“It’s up to you to tell me,” he replied.“That’s the million dollar question. If you can find the answer, I’ll give you a million dollars.”
With only three race weekends left at the wheel of this Mercedes before heading to Ferrari, Hamilton admits to having “Looking forward to Christmas.”
“I’m not fighting for the championship,” Hamilton explains. “It doesn’t matter, actually, where we finish the championship. I don't care if I finish ahead or behind George. It makes no difference to me.”
“I just want to keep the car off the wall and try to score points if I can for the team. If they give me a car that doesn't bounce around the track in the next few races, then hopefully we can get a better result. But yes, I can’t wait for Christmas.”
