Floods in Spain: a woman found alive after 4 days next to the body of her sister-in-law, another rescued among piles of cars, stuck for 3 days

Emergency services counted more than 200 dead and hundreds missing. While research continues actively in the Valencia region, in the middle of the rubble, in these desolate landscapes, some news comes to give back fragments of hope.

A woman was notably rescued this Saturday, November 2 in Massanassa, four days after the start of the deadly floods.

“The woman lived with her sister-in-law, also elderly and sick, who died on the ground floor of the house they occupied,” indicates the media Marca. She was found visibly in good health, then transported by emergency services to a health center.

Woman rescued after three days. She survived trapped, next to the corpse of her sister-in-law. Thank you firefighters and emergency teams.
This is unbearable. How many pardons could have been saved with correct management after the catastrophe?

“After three days we found a living person inside a car,” Martín Pérez, head of Civil Protection of Moncada, also announced to the hundreds of volunteers from all over Spain. She was found Friday evening.

The newspaper reports that it was during a patrol in the town of Benetússer that the screams of a woman were heard. They came from inside a car. It was then located under a pile of vehicles washed away since Tuesday October 29 by the waves. She was rescued and then treated by the health services.

Authorities have indicated that the death toll could rise as car wrecks piled up in tunnels and parking lots in the worst-hit areas are now being methodically examined.
