Formula 1 | Stake remains at the back of the grid for the Sprint despite the developments

Developments or not, Stake continues to occupy the last places on the starting grid. This will again be the case this Saturday during the Sprint, since Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou will be 19th and 20th at the start.

“Qualifying was quite difficult, with the wind picking up and affecting my consistency” declared the Finnish driver, who tries to stay positive and assures that he has moved closer to the competition.

“The end result doesn’t seem any different from the last few laps, but the feeling in the car is better: the improvements we made in this race put us in a better position and we are closer to the competition.”

“We still need to find more stability, so the plan is to fine-tune the settings after tomorrow’s sprint, before qualifying on Sunday, with the aim of doing something more tomorrow and putting ourselves in a better position for the race.”

Guanyu Zhou didn’t have the developments of Bottas but still finished 1″3 behind his teammate, and tried to explain why: “The day was very delicate, from the morning with technical problems which cost us track time, and few laps completed in EL.”

“On a Sprint weekend we can’t afford to lose track time, so we knew it would be a tough day. My best lap in Sprint Qualifying was erased, but on this attempt I didn’t “I was only half a tenth behind Valtteri.”

“It wouldn’t have been enough to get off the back row. It’s frustrating to feel like you’ve gotten the most out of the car and you’re close to your teammate, but we’re both at the back of the pack. “

“It shows that as a team we still have a lot of work to do. However, I hope that by solving the problems we have had so far this weekend, we can have a Saturday and a cleaner Sunday.”
