Yoshihisa Ueno, Chairman and CEO of JRP explained. “ Regarding the race in Korea which was scheduled for June on the 2025 calendar, we were in the process of coordinating the hosting requirements with the Korean promoter, but as the requirements were not met within the deadline set by both parties, we We have decided to abandon the event in 2025. »
Ueno added: “ We do not deny the possibility of holding the event after 2026, but since some issues cannot be resolved over time, we have not yet discussed holding the event in 2026. » A hard blow for the championship which intended to move to other countries next year. South Korea also loses out from this cancellation, while the country is notably aiming for a return to the Formula 1 calendar in the future.
