At home, Union Bordeaux-Bègles and Aviron Bayonnais are the winners of the afternoon. Pau and Montpellier breathe by winning valuable victories.
What a hit from UBB! This Saturday in its Jacques Chaban-Delmas stadium, Union Bordeaux-Bègles made short work of Perpignan (66-12). The Bordelais scored ten tries – including a double by Matthieu Jalibert – to validate an improved success and remain at the top of the Top 14 at the end of the 6th day. Especially since its runner-up, Stade Rochelais, went through hell on the lawn of Aviron Bayonnais, losing 37-7. The Maritimes trailed 25-0 at halftime.
At the bottom of the ranking, the Section Paloise won a valuable victory at home against Castres Olympique (33-26). A very important victory also for Montpellier who scared themselves but ended up getting the better of Vannes, 26-24. The MHR, which was tied with the Vannes red lantern before the meeting, is taking a deep breath after three consecutive defeats.
