League 2 | Guingamp returns to the podium, stagnates in the soft stomach

Guingamp, which remained in two matches without a victory, revived by logically beating 3 to 1 to climb to the third step of the Ligue 2 podium at the end of the 7th day Monday evening at the Roudourou stadium.

With this result, the Bretons have 13 points and regain the podium that they had abandoned a week ago. The Normans, for their part, suffered a setback after two consecutive successes and occupied 13th place (7 pts). The match was briefly interrupted shortly after kick-off by toilet paper being thrown onto the pitch before resuming a minute later.

The Bretons, beaten by FC at Charléty 2-1 and held by (2-2) during their two previous outings, made the match easy by opening the score very quickly thanks to a header from Siwe ( 6th). With success, Sylvain Ripoll’s men could have made the break several times but came up against Mandrea, author of salutary saves.

Led by the smallest of margins, Nicolas Seube’s men began to believe it after the break. On a distant free kick taken by M’Vila, the home scorer Alexandre Mendy strangely alone adjusted the Guingamp goalkeeper (51st). But at the heart of a strong Caen moment, Hugo Picard, author of a full match, scored a sumptuous goal, after a solitary ride (67th), which hurt the visitors.

Taylor Luvambo, who had just come into play, killed all the suspense by scoring the goal from close range which buried the hopes of the Caen team, owned by Kylian Mbappé since this summer (78th).
