Ferrari announces heavy for the United States Grand Prix

Ferrari promises to bring many new features for the next Grand Prix of the 2024 calendar of the Formula 1 world championship.

Ferrari has officially announced that the improvements planned for the United States Grand Prix will mark the end of development of the SF-24 for the current season.

Although the Italian team is still in contention in the constructors’ championship, priority is now given to preparing for the 2025 F1 season, with the hope of regaining the advantage over the competition next year.

Latest improvements in Austin

Despite an end to the season that promises to be intense with a fierce fight for places of honor, Ferrari has therefore made the decision to stop development of the SF-24 after the Austin Grand Prix. Frédéric Vasseur, team principal, clarified that even if these developments are minimal, they could have an impact in an extremely tight peloton.

“Every little improvement can make a difference when the peloton is so compact. We know the battle is close, and we must remain vigilant” Vasseur said.

These adjustments, although modest, could give Ferrari the advantage needed to score crucial points in the final races of the season.

Anticipated preparation for 2025

Ferrari engineers are already focusing their efforts on the development of the 2025 single-seater. By making this strategic choice, the team hopes to get a head start on its rivals for the next season. This decision reflects the importance of a good start for the coming year, in a context where competition continues to strengthen.

Unlike the summer period, when teams have to close their factories, Ferrari can still work on certain components. However, after Austin, no major changes will be made to the SF-24. The Italian team believes that it can take advantage of this latest batch of developments to maximize its performance during the last six races of the year.

Goal: finish strong and prepare for the future

With three wins under their belt this season, Ferrari remains determined to finish on a high note while aiming for second place in the constructors’ championship, currently held by Red Bull. The Scuderia is aware that the next races will be crucial to achieve this objective.

The Singapore Grand Prix saw mixed performances for Ferrari, with Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc facing difficulties in qualifying. Sainz hit the wall in Q3, while Leclerc suffered tire temperature problems.

However, the team’s resilience in the race allowed Leclerc to secure a fifth place, while Sainz finished seventh, picking up important points in the process.

Praised race management

Frédéric Vasseur was also satisfied with the race management of his drivers despite the difficulties encountered in Singapore.

“The result of the weekend was not what we hoped for, but we had a good performance in the race. The strategy and pit stops were well executed, which shows the strength of the team” he pointed out.

As Ferrari looks towards 2025, these latest developments on the SF-24 could well be decisive for the end of the season.
