Sébastien Ogier (Toyota) remains in the lead before the last day of the Monte-Carlo rally

The Frenchman Sébastien Ogier is still at the top of the Monte-Carlo rally on Saturday evening at the end of the penultimate day of race, with around twenty seconds ahead of his British teammate Elfyn Evans, second.

Ogier, still engaged in a partial program with Toyota this year, assured his position all day, without taking too many risks. He will start the last day on Sunday, with 20 sec 3/10 ahead of his first pursuer, Evans.

On the eve of the arrival of this first round of the season, everything remains to be played for the podium because in the general provisional classification, less than seven seconds separate the second from the fourth, the Estonian Ott Tänak (Hyundai), returned as a Canon ball in the afternoon. For his first rally with Hyundai, the Frenchman Adrien Fourmaux is currently third.

Outside the race for the final victory, the defending world champion Thierry Neuville is 8th, more than five minutes from Ogier. The Belgian has experienced several disappointments since the departure of the rally on Thursday evening, including a road trip and a puncture.

The last three specials of the “Monte Carl '” (ES16 to ES18) will take place on Sunday morning.
