Formula 1 | Steiner enjoys role as media consultant

Gunther Steiner may not have been team boss at Haas for a year but his almost continuous presence in the paddock as a highly regarded consultant for several television channels, including Cana+, has continued to delight his fans.

The character that is Steiner always has a sense of formula. But does he miss F1 on the competition side? This is the question asked by Ouest .

“If I didn't go to the races, I would miss some people because I have a lot of friends there, but I'm there regularly. I've done about half the race weekends this year, mostly as a media consultant. Do I miss racing sometimes? But do I miss the days when I worked from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. I miss questions to ask even before Monday morning ? No.”

Steiner details how he came to work with so many media outlets.

“They all asked me! It's strange, isn't it? I was thinking of taking a year off, because I also have my own businesses, but I was asked immediately and I said yes to a media outlet, then to another… Today I work with Australian, Austrian, German and French channels! What more could you ask for? It's very interesting, I see different sides of this environment and I try to learn, as always. works in Formula 1, we don't really see what The journalists and the media work hard. I have the opportunity to work with them, and if I didn't like it, I certainly won't do it next year. I see it like this: I love Formula 1, and if someone calls me to join a project I will be happy to participate, but I don't want to just 'get a job' to stay in Formula 1.”

The Italian of Austrian origin was able to rely on his good understanding with journalists to launch his career as a consultant.

“I got along well with most, yes. It may have gone badly with one or two, no more. If you are honest with me, and you hear my answers – because I never lie – everything goes well. I think a lot of people respected me because I was always as honest as I could be. And if I couldn't tell the truth about a particular story, I wasn't lying if I couldn't! talk, I don't say anything, but I don't deceive not people. So yes, I have always had a good relationship with journalists, even today.”
