F1 team principals have voted for their best driver of the season

Unsurprisingly, Max Verstappen was voted driver of the year for the fourth consecutive year by the bosses of the Formula 1 teams in an annual poll organized by the championship.

This vote was carried out by secret ballot, with each team boss giving their list of the 10 best drivers of the year. Each driver is then assigned grades based on 's current points system, from 25 for first to 1 for tenth.

Quadruple world champion, Max Verstappen was unanimously named best driver of the year. This is the first time since the birth of this ranking seven years ago that a driver has received the maximum number of points, namely 250.

The Dutchman beat his runners-up in the Drivers' World Championship: Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc. Oscar Piastri finds himself at the foot of the podium in front of Carlos Sainz. George Russell is sixth ahead of his teammate Lewis Hamilton. The seven-time world champion is the first to lose places in this top 10 compared to last year (-2).

Nico Hülkenberg is rewarded for his good season with Haas by entering this ranking (8th), just like Pierre Gasly (10th). Fernando Alonso is the one who experiences the most significant drop compared to 2023 with seven places lost, but the Spaniard remains in the top 10.

The top 10:
1. Max Verstappen 250 points

2. Lando Norris 178 pts (+ 1 place compared to 2023)
3. Charles Leclerc 121 pts (+1)
4. Oscar Piastri 113 pts (+3)
5. Carlos Sainz 110 pts (+1)
6. George Russell 86 pts (+3)
7. Lewis Hamilton 54 (-2)
8. Nico Hülkenberg 39 (new entry)
9. Fernando Alonso 27 (-7)
10. Pierre Gasly 21 (new entry)
