Formula 1 | Official: Graeme Lowdon becomes Cadillac director

General Motors has confirmed the information that we first reported to you on December 1: the manufacturer has appointed Graeme Lowdon as team principal of Cadillac, which has signed an agreement to enter Formula 1 in 2026.

GM therefore places an experienced name at the helm, Lowdon was the sporting director of the now defunct Manor team, which existed from 2010 to 2016.

Lowdon became involved in the Andretti venture in January 2023 in response to the FIA ​​opening an expression of interest process to invite new candidates to apply to enter .

But while FOM declined the initial offer under the Andretti Global name, General Motors is now prepared to enter under the Cadillac name once the new regulations take effect.

General Motors will continue to split the operation between the United States and the United Kingdom, where it has a satellite base located near Silverstone.
