Charles Leclerc is not worried about losing his good understanding with Carlos Sainz when he joins Williams F1. The Ferrari driver recalls that they will always work alongside each other, and that their good understanding goes beyond the simple fact of being teammates.
“I've said it many times. On the one hand, it's not like I'm going to miss him like crazy because he'll always be in the paddock, maybe 20 meters away. On the other hand Besides, like I said about Fred, Carlos is not my girlfriend either” Leclerc said.
“I love Carlos a lot, but I'm sure we will still spend a lot of time together. And as I said earlier, we have a very good relationship that will remain even after our relationship within Ferrari.
“Yes, we won't work together anymore, but we will still spend time together. But he's a good person and we get along very, very well. And like I said earlier, it helps us work very well together.”
The Monegasque was asked if he could have a different dynamic next year with Lewis Hamilton at his side, but he is not sure: “No, I don't think so. We also have a very good relationship. It's a different relationship because I haven't spent a lot of time with Lewis yet.”
“But I obviously have a lot of respect for Lewis and what he's accomplished. And we've had a really good relationship. We're not quite the same age, but we share a lot of interests outside of the race. So, no, I'm sure it won't be any different.”
