In 2025, Marc Marquez will join Pecco Bagnaia on the Ducati factory team, with the aim of winning a ninth world crown in the world championship, a seventh in the premier class. A title after which the No. 93 has been chasing since the 2019 season. A year which preceded a major injury, followed by the fall of Honda in the hierarchy, compared to the European brands.
To achieve this, Marc Marquez knows who he will have to measure up to. His teammate, double world champion with Ducati, has just lost the title by just a few points to Jorge Martín. However, he crushed the competition on Sunday, winning eleven of the twenty events organized.
“I'm in the best team, with the best bike, and my teammate won twice in MotoGP, and fought for the title with Jorge until the last race, says Marquez in an interview with the famous Spanish beer brand, Estrella Galicia. And he lost it by ten points, so I will have all the tools at my disposal to fight for the championship. It's in my hands. “That’s what I did in 2023, when I made the decision to join Gresini. Everything that happened afterwards were the consequences of the results achieved on the track. But next year the plan is already set, he continues. I will have to be fast on the track to achieve my goals. I didn't win the title this year. The GP25 already superior to the GP24
A little less than two weeks ago, the Spaniard completed his first laps under the banner of the official Borgo Panigale team. He therefore had the opportunity to get an idea of the machine he will ride next year.
“During 90% of this day, I tested the GP25, because this Test day is for the engineers who have to find the path to follow for next year, adds Marc Marquez. Knowing in which direction to evolve the bike, and Pecco and I, gave the same feedback. The same advantages, and the same problems. From GP23 to GP25, there is a gap, and from GP24 to GP25, it is different. It's hard to say that a bike is better than one that has been running all year in just a few laps. »

Mark in enemy lands
Before the start of the next campaign, Marquez also knows that he will have to find his place within his new team. A job that his teammate no longer has to do who has already proven himself thanks to all the exploits he accomplished with the Bologna factory.
“I have never experienced this situation, admits Marquez on this subject. Normally there is no number 2 or number 1 in a garage, but here, you arrive in a box where Pecco is the boss. He brought two titles to Ducati, he won eleven races this year. So it's logical that he is considered a bit of a leader for the pre-season, and the first races.

The next test sessions will take place next February, on the Sepang circuit (Malaysia). Until then, the drivers will take advantage of a short winter break to rest and prepare physically to face a long campaign of twenty-two events.
