Lewis Hamilton has admitted that he wants to make his first drive with Ferrari in 2025, “without being seen”.
While Lewis Hamilton will join Ferrari in 2025, we could have imagined seeing him in the SF-24 from the post-season tests in Abu Dhabi. However, this will not happen. “We are saying goodbye to Lewis. We have many activities planned”indicated Toto Wolff at a press conference in Las Vegas.
In any case, Lewis Hamilton himself did not want to participate in this post-season test in Abu Dhabi, unlike Frédéric Vasseur who would have liked to see it start at the end of the year.
“I know Fred wanted this to happen,” Hamilton said. “As far as I was concerned, I was torn. Driving the red car for the first time in Abu Dhabi doesn't excite me. In a perfect world, it would be to drive it without being seen and do the first run next year.”

Hamilton: “I told Fred that’s not what I wanted to do”
“When I talked about it, obviously with Toto, they had all these plans for me to go see some of the sponsors and have them say goodbye. So I don't think this could have been allowed, even if I had asked to do so. But as I am under contract with the team until December 31, it is completely normal.”
“But it doesn't bother me, again, because I didn't intend to take the test. That's not what I wanted to do. I told Fred that’s not what I wanted to do.”
“Am I missing something? Of course”, continues Hamilton. “It definitely delays the process and makes the start of the year more difficult, but we will do our best to make up for lost time.”
