Toyota reveals its crews for the 2025 WEC season

Unsurprisingly, Toyota is continuing. The Japanese manufacturer will defend its Manufacturers' title with the same six men as in 2024. Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi and Nyck de Vries will still be together at the wheel of the #7 GR010 Hybrid while Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryo Hirakawa will continue to be associated on No. 8.

« We have a top line-up in both cars, and I'm happy to be part of them again in 2025, declares Kamui Kobayashi, Team Principal and driver of the No. 7. The team spirit and cooperation between all drivers, and the team in general, grows with each race and each season. Thanks to the tremendous support from everyone at Toyota, as well as our partners, we have achieved good results this year, but we are determined to do more. Competing in the Hypercar category in the WEC is a big challenge and we are fighting against some very strong competition, but as a team we are continually striving to do even better at each event. I expect this to continue next season, with a cohesive crew of drivers who know how to work together – as a crew of drivers, as team members and as part of the Toyota family – to succeed in endurance racing. I know the whole team is enthusiastic about taking on the challenge of 2025. »

« I am obviously delighted to continue driving the #7 car with Toyota Gazoo Racing in 2025, added Mike Conway. It has been a pleasure to be part of this team for 10 years and I truly feel like part of the family. It's been an interesting year for us, but I think as a crew we've gotten along well and are having fun together, with a strong team spirit. We inspire each other, we push each other to always give the best of ourselves, and it's really nice. I can’t wait for 2025 to begin. »

« I'm excited to stay on the #7 car with Mike and Kamui, explique Nyck de Vries. We had a good first season together. Of course we had our ups and downs, but overall it was a great experience. I look forward to being part of this team in 2025, it’s a real pleasure and an honor. Toyota Gazoo Racing has a long history and an excellent track record in the WEC, and we have a lot of ambitions ahead of us. We are determined to continue fighting for victories and championships. »

« This team is an integral part of my family, explains Sébastien Buemi. I grew up around Toyota as my family has owned a Toyota dealership for over 50 years, and I remember having my photo taken next to the GT-One at the Geneva Motor Show when I was a kid. It’s been great to be part of the team since the first season in 2012, having achieved many good results during that time. Thank you to everyone at Toyota Gazoo Racing for giving me the opportunity to aim for another victory at and the World Championship. »

« I am very happy to continue with Toyota Gazoo Racing and I am grateful to the team and Toyota for this opportunity, says Brendon Hartley. With the #8 car, the 2024 season has not been ideal and, despite starting the season as champions and with hopes for Le Mans, things have not always gone our way. wishes. But we are very motivated and I really believe in the people around me. I am very excited to fight for another championship and Le Mans together in 2025. »

« I am happy to be part of Toyota Gazoo Racing in the WEC for our fourth year together, declared Ryo Hirakawa. Of course, our goal is to win Le Mans and the championship, even if it will be another difficult year with the arrival of a new manufacturer in Hypercar. But we know we have the potential and the team spirit to achieve it. With the support of Toyota and our partners, I am confident that we will be strong and I look forward to participating. »

The 2025 World Endurance Championship season will begin on February 28 with the 1812 km of Qatar. The 93rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will take place on June 14 and 15.
