Formula 1 | Zhou will not have Stake developments this weekend

Guanyu Zhou is disappointed not to have the developments available at Stake for Valtteri Bottas this weekend. All the teams are bringing new things after four weeks of break, and the Hinwil team is the only one not to offer any to its two drivers, but the Chinese hopes that they will be positive.

“It’s good to see developments, but it will be on a car unfortunately, and not on mine. Valtteri is going to test them this weekend and I should have them for Mexico. We’ll see what they bring” said Zhou, who knows that his future in Formula 1 depends on the coming weeks.

“We discuss, everything is in Mattia’s hands [Binotto, nouveau leader du projet]who is here this weekend and working with my management team. All I can say is I’m trying to do my job here to impress him, and we’ll see what the future is.”

“We’ve already had meetings with him, there are opportunities, but nothing is decided and nothing is black or white. I’m focusing on what’s happening now and we’ll see how things go.”

Asked if Stake could finish the season well and move up the standings, Zhou was mixed and admitted it was too late to reverse the trend, although he hoped to move closer to the team’s rivals.

“I don’t think we can gain a place in the constructors’ championship, but we have worked a lot to regroup, to change as an organization, we see positive things, but at this point in the season, it’s It’s hard to say we can change things.”
