At 66, Gilles Moretton hopes to return for a second set of four years at the head of the French Tennis Federation. Germain Roesch, the current president of the powerful Ligue Île-de-France (the largest in terms of number of members and votes), officially a candidate since June 19, is running against the current boss of the FFT, of whom he had nevertheless supported the candidacy in 2021. Less than three months before the verdict and the elective general assembly, synonymous with the end of the vote (December 14), the candidates are putting forward their pawns, campaigning and meeting club leaders. The latter are important because they will count for half of the votes during this electoral process which began in September. If the outgoing president’s entourage is very confident, the match could be closer than expected against Germain Roesch, a former business executive.
