This place is full of history, do you think about it while riding? Does it have an influence on performance?
I think it really depends on each person’s sensitivity. For me, it plays a big role. I like to see this mountain in all its facets and I tell myself that yes, for a long time, I saw it through the landscape side. But behind that, I find that it brings much more depth to know its history, its past. I say it in the documentary, when we are on Monte Piano and Monte Piana, when we are on this plateau with all these trenches, it is so obvious that you understand that something has happened. You see shrapnel, you find bullets, bones…
