“I hope you will spare him”, Mbappé’s warning to journalists for Barcola

French team: “I hope you will spare him”, Mbappé’s warning to journalists for Barcola

Kylian Mbappé is very happy for Bradley Barcola. The Real Madrid star congratulated his former Paris Saint-Germain teammate, who has had an excellent start to the season with four goals scored in three Ligue 1 games. “I’m happy for him. Before being a very good player, he’s a very good boy, so I really wish him the best,” the captain of the French team commented at a press conference on Thursday, September 5.

“He has a very, very big potential,” added Kylian Mbappé. “He’s at a big club where he’ll be able to progress, evolve, play big matches. All I wish for him is to continue like this and do even better because I think he can do even better. What he’s doing is great. I’ve seen the matches, except for the last one because we were playing at the same time. He’s gaining a lot more confidence, he has confidence in his football, his teammates have confidence in him. It’s great news for him, for PSG and of course for us, the French team.”

“When he has matches where he doesn’t score, you shouldn’t come and ask me the same questions to tell me that it’s a draw.”

Kylian Mbappé took the opportunity to gently tackle the journalists, preemptively calling for restraint with Bradley Barcola: “I also hope that you will spare him because today it’s fresh, it’s new so it’s great. But when he has matches where he doesn’t score, you shouldn’t come and ask me the same questions to tell me that it’s a draw.”

Bradley Barcola, who has five caps since the start of the year, is a candidate to start on the left wing for Les Bleus for the match against Italy, counting for the first day of the Nations League. This could put Kylian Mbappé back in the centre, as at Real Madrid.
