Guirassy’s disappointed reaction, absent from the list of 30 nominees

The timing leaves little room for doubt. This Wednesday, the list of 30 nominees for the Ballon d’Or was revealed and logically, it disappointed some. A few minutes after the names were revealed, Serhou Guirassy reacted on his social networks, clearly disappointed by his absence.

The Guinean international posted three smileys on X (ex-Twitter): the first one is laughing, the second one is grabbing his head and the third one is raising his arms to the sky. With Stuttgart, the striker scored 28 times in the Bundesliga, in as many games played, largely contributing to his club’s final second place in the championship.

Openda also reacts

In the Bundesliga goalscorers ranking, Serhou Guirassy finished second, eight points behind Englishman Harry Kane. The Bayern Munich player is also in the list of 30 names for the Ballon d’Or. Bundesliga champion Bayer Leverkusen placed three players with Granit Xhaka, Florian Wirtz and Alejandro Grimaldo.

In response to this tweet from Serhou Guirassy, Loïs Openda, 24 goals in the Bundesliga in 2023-2024, put three suspension points with a smiley face that is taking the head. The former RC Lens player arrived in the summer of 2023 at RB Leipzig. Cristiano Ronaldo, Mohamed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne or the defending champion Lionel Messi are also missing from the call among the most prestigious names.

For his part, Serhou Guirassy was transferred to Borussia Dortmund last July, for 18 million euros. Since his arrival at BVB, the former Rennes and Amiens player has not yet worn his new jersey. The 28-year-old player is nursing a knee injury.
