Top 14 – “Owen Farrell, this mystery”: Midol's opinion after Racing 92 –

Disappointing since the start of the season, Owen Farrell delivered a more than worrying performance on Saturday evening. Will it ever return to its former levels?

Depending on the lesson that the Ile-de- residents received on Saturday evening against , there are three Ciel et Blanc who were able to do well: Joshua Tuisova, Jordan Joseph and Hacjivah Dayimani. In fact, the other Racingmen did indeed sink with the ship and Owen Farrell obviously did not escape the sinking. Far from it: in , the former opener of the XV de la Rose probably even signed his worst performance since he joined the Hauts-de-Seine club last summer. Particularly slow in his ball transmissions, uninspired in his busy footwork, the former leader of Saracens therefore left us facing Castres with multiple questions: is Farrell still strong enough to play in the Top 14? Will he one day return to the level that was his for a long time? And why does his integration into Racing take so much time? Hampered by pubalgia at the start of the season, Owen Farrell (33) should have recently returned to competition in Olympic form and we are obviously very far from the mark: to date, the greatest scorer in the history of English rugby n he is more than a shadow of himself and, in Hauts-de-Seine, even lets Nolann Le Garrec and Tristan Tedder take charge of the penalties. If he is apparently very involved in training and in the defensive sector, the English fly-half is therefore very far from having repaid the trust that the Ile-de-France leaders have placed in him. Therefore, will the public of the Top 14 in general and Racing 92 in particular one day see the true face of Owen Farrell?
