The story of Anne, a 53-year-old interior designer from Reunion Island, made a lot of noise at the start of the year following her testimony in Seven to Eight. Victim of a scammer pretending to be American actor Brad Pitt, Anne saw her life turned upside down. The fake Brad Pitt, claiming to be in financial and health difficulties, manipulated Anne through long virtual exchanges. Under psychological influence, the mother ended up making transfers, reaching 830,000 euros, to help him.

His story sparked a flood of criticism and mockery on social networks. To defend it, her daughter Margaux spoke on the set of The Big Weekon M6,this Saturday January 18, 2025.

She was convinced he needed her. I could tell something was wrong, but she didn't listen to me. Under manipulation, it's difficult to see clearly.

Margaux then explained having tried to alert his mother on the absurdity of the situation:

I tell her that she has to be careful… But at the beginning, we didn't know the extent that it was going to take and then as I told you, under influence and manipulation, it's nice to talk , but when you don't really know what's going on inside someone's head

“She fights thanks to our bond”

The affair took an even more dramatic turn after the broadcast of the report in Seven to Eight. Anne, already fragile, became the target of intense cyberharassment. “She wanted to end her life (…) but she fights thanks to our bond,” confided Margaux, evoking the three suicide attempts of his mother. Today hospitalized and monitored by professionals, Anne is trying to rebuild herself.
