Participation on the rise….

Saturday January 18, 2025

2nd of the 6 days of Damazan 2025.

Organisation: Lot et Garonne Departmental Committee.

Animation: Jean Jacques Lassarrade.

47 Runners: 13 elite-opens + 15 masters-access + 8 U17 + 9 U15 + 2 U13. (8 women and 39 men) participated in the various events of the 2th of the 6 days of Damazan 2025.

The sun was present until the last race of the day, that of the scratch Elites-Open-Masters-Access, a novelty set up by the essential Gilles Canouet, brought balm to the hearts of the participants.

Among the veterans the joy of meeting again was visible, for some young newcomers it was the discovery of the trail.

Note that many of those who passed through the Damazan ring began a career that took them very high in the hierarchy.

Elites-Open-Access

Samuel Serres dominated his opponents even if in the race for points Valentin Bésarion, the new member of the Sprinter Club du Périgord, put up real resistance to him following a long solitary breakaway which allowed him to finish tied on points. The final sprint gave victory to Samuel Serres who will not be present next Saturday due to training with his AVC Aix En Provence team before participating in the Essor Basque. Note the rise in power of Tom Péré, the Limougeaud of Team ULH.

Masters-Access

LoÏc Ignace, brave winner of the points race, won again in the Danish race ahead of… guess who… Alain, his father who never hesitates to stick his nose out the window at the right moment.

U 17

Nolan De Reuter, the solid riders from Gers Développement with an already well-established track record, finds little opposition, as here finishing with Quentin Dezellis UV (AUCH GG) and even if Paul Daugé does not let himself be counted out.

U13-U15

Jimmy Raynon (SU ) for the elimination and Léa Langella for the points race won. The small guys from the Vélo Club Sud , Anthony Cigana and Colin Briongos, newcomers, were not unworthy.

Note that the last event, the scratch meeting for teams of 2, was very competitive, the duo Luk Daugé-Joris Mercier knew how to stay together perfectly to win.
