The Limoges Cyclotourist Revival recently held its general assembly at the Charles-Silvestre associative space.
The year 2024 was severely disrupted by very rainy weather which particularly impacted weekday bike rides. Thus, the 100 km hike in Charente Limousine, initially scheduled for April 27 from Cussac, had to be postponed twice due to catastrophic forecasts… before finally being canceled.
The club, however, benefited from some favorable slots for the traditional outing in Brenne on April 6, the stay in Soustons (40) from June 17 to 22, the club barbecue on July 7 in Moissannes. It was also possible on September 21 to go to Arnac-la-Poste by bike to visit the Cycling museum.
The walks scheduled once a month during the winter period took place normally despite a few showers.
From the general assembly, we will remember the decision to transfer the head office of the Maison des Sports de Beaublanc, which should be demolished, to the Charles-Silvestre associative space, in the street of the same name.
The financial results are good, the membership stable (40 members). The big concern remains the aging of licensees and the low renewal despite the efforts made in this area. Certainly, the use of electric assistance facilitates cycling on the steep roads of Limousin, but the club observes that the number of members forced to limit or temporarily stop their cycling activity to treat physical problems linked to age is increasing…
The program for 2025 is not yet set in stone, new proposals may be integrated throughout the season.
The major events are maintained: hiking in Brenne on April 5, 100 km on April 26, one-week stay in the Gard at Méjannes-le-Clap at the end of June and barbecue on July 6.
