Remco Evenepoel: “Ride outside again at the beginning of February”
“The scan this morning was pretty positive. The results are quite good, the shoulder is healing well. It was quite serious and severe, she was done for. I’m happy, I was able to have my first physio session, that means my rehabilitation can begin. Now it’s day by day to move forward and try to strengthen my shoulder. It is important that the shoulder can withstand the shocks associated with the road before being able to emerge. I’m going to start with a month on the trainer and then I hope to be able to ride outside again in early February. »

That means that I haven’t been able to do anything yet and that I’m very far from being in good shape. Staying ten weeks without cycling and without work, I know what it’s like and how difficult it is to come back. Having two such major setbacks in the same year is demoralizing. I was at the top in July with the podium in the Tour de France and then at my lowest in winter, the contrast is enormous. At first it was difficult to deal with but as time went on I became more positive. »
