Quentin Du Mouza wins the Saint-Maixme-Hauterive cyclo-cross

Rain, a ray of sunshine, freezing cold and finally a big squall. It was in these somewhat special conditions that the first cyclo-cross of the season took place in Eure-et-Loir, this Sunday, December 22, in Saint-Maixme-Hauterive.

While the youth events (U15 and U17) took place in the rain, the sun reappeared at the start of the Elite race, given at around 2 p.m. On a circuit made muddy by the showers of the day before and in the morning, Quentin Du Mouza (Team CX ) dominated head and shoulders the flagship event which brought together around twenty competitors. Given the gloomy weather, some preferred not to make the trip, like one of the favorites, the Ornais of VC Aiglon, Gwenaël Fernier.

Field open for Du Mouza

The field was therefore wide open for Quentin Du Mouza, winner the day before of the American in (Vienna), in a duo with his teammate Mathieu Morichon, selected yesterday for an event in Poitou.

Behind Du Mouza, we witnessed a fratricidal duel between the two Chartrains Baptiste Constantin and Vincent , victorious, on Saturday, with his fourth bouquet, in Saint-Aignan (Loir-et-Cher). It was yours, mine between the two cyclo-crossmen. Ultimately, Constantine would win his duel.

For his part, Du Mouza won without firing a shot just as a violent gust hit the circuit, bringing down the finishing arch!

The ranking:
Elite.1. Quentin Du Mouza (Team CX Chartres); 2. Baptiste Constantin (TCXC); 3. Vincent Limoges (TCXC); 4. Yan Marie (Guidon Provinois); 5. Judicaël Marie (EC St-Vigorienne); 6.
