“I love trail running! »: cyclist Jordan Jégat in great form in Saint-Jean-Brévelay, where he won the 11 km

Trail of Saint-Jean-Brévelay

Why did you come to do this test?

My brother (Jason) told me there was this race. Given that I'm a native of Saint-Jean-Brévelay and that I know the woods quite well, I really wanted to run and I'm really happy to have done it.

Are you back for a few days in Morbihan?

Yes, a week for Christmas. Afterwards, I return to before joining the TotalEnergies team in Calpe (Spain) to prepare for the season. This will be a second ten-day course.

There is also victory at the end…

Yes ! My brother does a lot of running. We both wanted to run together. I thought he would have given up on me. But he already went around Lake Guerlédan yesterday (Saturday) so he still had some left in his legs. He told me: “Go alone, I won’t be able to win.” The course was really good, technical, with tree crossings… It was sometimes climbing!

Do you run a lot during the “off” season?

I did a trail on November 24 in Levens near Nice, a 15 km. I have continued to run since the end of the season, especially in the mountains because I love trail running. This was my last race for a while. I'm going to slow down on running because it's still a hobby for me. The job remains the bike.

How do you view your 2024 season?

This is the best season since I started . The best place, the first, is obviously missing. But I still had five podiums and quite a few top 10s. I was consistent all season. I was able to discover the Tour de (9th of the 17th stage). It’s a childhood dream that came true. Now it's nice to have a surprise. But the hardest part is confirming.

What will your goals be for 2025?

Redo the Tour de France and try to get a stage victory or get close to it. As a whole, just raise your arms on any run.

What is your recovery program?

My season will start on January 28 with the Tour of AlUla (Saudi Arabia).
