While the cyclo-cross season has just started and Thibau Nys should be one of the main animators, his father Sven Nys gave an interview in which he talks about his son. The two-time cyclo-cross world champion emphasizes that his son must continue to seek a balance between the two disciplines, but despite the fact that he excels in cyclo-cross, he should favor the road in the long term, which is more suitable for his son's abilities according to him.

The Belgian cannot risk being a “jack of all trades, master of none”he will therefore have to make choices about the areas on which he will place the most emphasis. “It is questionable whether Thibau is still a typical cyclocross racer. I don't think so myself. Look at what he accomplished last season on the road. It sounds impressive, but he should choose the road with all his talent.” asserts Sven. Asked whether his son will continue to do the winter season of cyclo-cross in 2025, Sven replied: “TIt all depends on what happens in the summer. For example, which Grand Tour will he race in 2025? If it's La Vuelta, you'll have to recover afterwards. Then you won't be able to start running in October either. We will look at this in the coming period.”
