This Friday, November 15, 2024, the Vélo Club Ruffiacois held its annual general meeting, bringing together members of the three sections of the club: walking, cycling and mountain biking. The opportunity for President Yann Hedan and the members of the office to look back on the activities and successes of the 2023-2024 season, as well as to present the prospects and improvement projects for the coming year.

In 2024, the club enjoyed great success with two major events: a takeaway meal sale and a hike that attracted 669 participants, including 480 walkers. These initiatives made it possible to combine efficient logistics and popular enthusiasm, while limiting the number of volunteers needed.

On the members' side, the sections of the club have recorded various developments. The mountain bike section recorded a slight drop in numbers, with 15 members including 8 children, but obtained a 3rd place during the 6 hour relay in Taupont.

The cyclo section, with 15 members, participated in important events such as the ascent of Tourmalet.

The walking section, on the other hand, recorded progress with 39 members, including 4 new ones. Varied circuits are offered every week, alternating outings outside and on Ruffiac.

The club invested in new jerseys for the MTB and cycling sections and recorded a positive financial result thanks to organized events, local grants and support from partners.

For 2025, several projects were discussed, including the creation of a new jacket in club colors for walkers and consideration of the opening of a running section. The year's programming includes events such as the galette des rois, the take-out meal, hiking and a reflection trail.

The club is also considering a name change to better reflect the evolution of its activities, particularly with a walking section which is gaining popularity. Proposals such as “Ruffiac Sport Nature” or “Ruffiac Sport Évasion” will be submitted to members via a survey.

Finally, a call was launched for the creation of a communications manager position, in order to better promote the activities and increase the visibility of the club.
