The route of the Tour de France 2025 was officially unveiled by Christian Prudhomme, the race director. For this 112th edition, the peloton will depart from Lille on July 5, 2025, with a route that pays homage to several French regions while highlighting demanding mountainous stages. The Grand Départ from Lille: A tribute to the North

The 112th edition of the Tour de France will begin on Saturday July 5, 2025 in Lille, where a first loop stage of 185 km will await the runners. This route, mainly intended for sprinters, will pass through demanding hills, including the famous Cassel coast, and will conclude at the foot of the citadel. The day after, July 6the peloton will leave Lauwin-Planque for Boulogne-sur-Mer, with a 209 km stage which will appeal to punchers, in particular thanks to the hills of Artois and Boulonnais.

The Monday July 7the runners will set off from towards (172 km), with a passage via the coast of Cassel. The route will be tricky due to the edges caused by the wind. THE Tuesday July 8the peloton will leave Hauts-de-France for , with a stage between and .

Normandy and in the spotlight

The July 9the first time trial of the 112th edition will take place in , to celebrate the city's millennium. The runners will compete on a 33 km course, ideal for power specialists.

The July 10the race will continue through Normandy with a stage between Bayeux and Vire. The day after, July 11direction Brittany with a stage from Saint-Malo to Mûr-de-Bretagne, where the famous 2 km climb with an average gradient of 6.8% promises great attacks. THE July 12the Tour will pass through , an ideal flat stage for sprinters, before passing through Saint-Méen-le-Grand to honor Louison Bobet.

The Massif Central and the Pyrenees

The July 13the peloton will take the road from Chinon to Châteauroux for a transition stage. THE July 14the tenth stage will be a highlight of the Tour with an arrival at Mont-Dore, after seven passes and a climb of Puy de Dôme.

The second week will be marked by an immersion in the Pyrenees, with formidable stages. THE July 17the runners will tackle the Col du Soulor and the Col des Bordères before reaching Hautacam, a high mountain finish. THE July 19the thirteenth stage will feature an uphill time trial in Peyragudes, a short but intense route. The next day, the peloton will set off from , heading towards the legendary climb of Tourmaletbefore attacking the ascent of Superbagnères.

Ventoux, the Alps and Paris

The third week promises to be decisive with a step towards Mont Ventoux the July 22. The sprinters will still have their chance with a stage of Bollène in Valencia. The July 24the race will take a decisive turn with a difficult stage in the Alps, linking Vif to Courchevel via passes like Glandon and Madeleine. THE July 25the climb to La Plagne will be an opportunity to see new gaps created, before the last mountain stage through the Jura, the July 26.

Arrival in Paris

The Sunday July 27the last stage will take place as tradition on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, with a start from Mantes-la-Ville and a finale reserved for sprinters. This will be an opportunity to conclude this 112th edition in style after three weeks of intense challenges.

Tour de France 2025 map: A journey across France

With this 100% French route, the Tour de France 2025 promises many twists and turns. The peloton will cross 11 regions et 34 departmentsgoing from the metropolis of Lille to the Alpine resorts of Courchevel and La Plagne. Through these 21 stages, the race will mix the great classics of French cycling with exciting new features. From Mont Ventoux to the Pyrenean passes, including decisive time trials, the favorites will have multiple opportunities to shine.
