In recent years, Filippo Ganna juggled between his goals on the road and on the track. But this will change in 2025, since the ItalianINEOS Grenadiers will focus solely on his objectives on the road, with the aim of regaining his best level. “The gradual transition to the road is a consequence of the races we do”explains the 28-year-old runner in an interview with our colleagues atAdnkronos. “If you look closely, I spend less time on the track than on the many road races. In my case it will just be a matter of no longer participating in the World Championships and World Cups on the track and maybe to do a little more training to progress on the road. Of course, I'm not giving up on the track, but I have to concentrate on the road.”

“Not to have weighed more than 90 kg…”
After establishing himself as one of the strongest riders in the peloton at the start of this decade, Summer had a relatively disappointing 2024 season on the road, adding “only” three victories to his record (the Giro d'Italia time trial, the Italian time trial championship and the 4th stage of the Tour of Austria).
Heading into 2025, the Italian is optimistic and looking to get back to his best level. “The first objective remains to win. As much as possible, this is something that everyone needs”he explains. “I hope to be a little more advantaged than in recent years. For example, in terms of weight. Not having climbed above 90 kg will allow me to start again strong with less difficulty”concludes the double time trial world champion.
