3rd edition of this cyclo-cross in Dordogne

Sunday November 3

Douchapt cyclo-cross (Dordogne)

Organisation : JS Asterienne.

Speakers : Patrick Vigné-Pierre Lajarthe

Bernard Estève the promoter in the company of Yannick Bocquier, with the technical assistance of the JS Astérien of President Philippe Leguen would certainly have liked to see more runners present in the events reserved for young people.

However, under a radiant sun, the public witnessed some beautiful and very competitive events for this 3rd edition.

It's not a news story but organizing a cycling event, in this case a cyclo-cross, requires a lot of time and skill.

Here today in Douchapt thanks to Bernard Estève, Philippe Le Guen, Jean Paul Séaut and the entire JS Astérien team, in the presence of Yves MAHAUD the mayor of the town and Mrs. Véronique CHABREYROU mayor of Mensignac and Departmental councilor , a feeling of weariness seemed to emerge.

Increasingly difficult to budget for cycling events here as elsewhere, then a detail perhaps but poorly perceived by the “sanguine” Bernard Estève and the runners added, a 4th edition is not yet assured.

33 entered in the elite-Open-Acess-Ladies-U 19 race, it's a great peloton that took off given the number of events this weekend!

Dylan Valade was the quickest to set off, while a first fall (Romain Chaminaud and Théo Lauseille) then another 200 meters further (Audric Pasquet and Pierre Mathieu Pellier) undermined their chances of doing well.

Baptiste Carrère, the young junior from Team ULH, quickly took the lead, with only Killian Larpe (Angoulème VC) and Anthony Brégière EC3M clinging to his wake.

Mathys Estève making great progress was not far away…while Pellier and Pasquet regained time but for them the chances of victory had vanished.

Anthony Brégière was getting closer to the leader to join him 2 laps from the finish and break away from him for a finish…a little short…according to the riders.
