More than half of Cycling fans doubt Tadej Pogacar’s performance

This survey is ultimately a pretty good summary of all the paradoxes of Tadej Pogacar, since his explosion in the eyes of the world in 2020. The Slovenian is obviously the best runner in the world, he has just had a totally crazy year which will have seen won, pell-mell: the Giro, the Tour de France, the Tour of Lombardy, Liège-Bastogne-Liège and the Worlds. Above all, he was hardly beaten, and gave off a frightening impression of domination, by multiplying the solo raids, like this escape of more than 100 kilometers to win the title of world champion.

Yet everyone loves him

This domination fuels suspicion, as the survey proves. 54% of Cycling fans questioned doubt Pogacar’s performance. They are even a little more, 60% to be precise, to consider that the domination of the Slovenian “ takes away interest from shopping ».

And yet, despite this lack of confidence, the runner’s popularity is remarkable. 59% of French people, and 75% of cycling fans have a good opinion of Pogacar. Its spectacular appearance is even almost acclaimed (85% of those questioned). The personality of the Tour winner therefore remains very positive, much more than other stars. For comparison, in a similar survey, Kylian Mbappé did not exceed 35% positive opinion.
