After his Giro-Tour de France double this year, Tadej Pogacar could once again set out in search of the pink jersey in 2025 on the Tour of Italy. Bad news for its competitors.
Primoz Roglic preferred to joke about it in recent days. For its 2025 program, the Slovenian announced that it would aim
“the races where Tadej will not be present”in order to avoid the ogre Pogacar.
It’s unclear how serious Roglic was when he said this, but the Red Bull-Bora leader may have to cross the Giro d’Italia off his list. According to journalist Beppe Conti, Pogacar could be at the start of the Giro again in 2025.
The world champion would like to go back in search of a second pink jersey, while the Tour of Italy, whose route will be announced on November 11, should take place next year for Slovenia.
Pogacar on the Giro, Evenepoel too?
In the same way, Beppe Conti also suggested that Remco Evenepoel would also be considering lining up for the Giro. The Belgian was aiming for victory in 2023, and he was even wearing the pink jersey when he had to give up on the morning of the 10th stage, because of Covid.
