Candidates to host the women’s Tour de almost every year since the relaunch of the event in 2022, the city of and the agglomeration of Grand Poitiers should see their wishes granted in 2025.

For now, only the first stages are known before the veil is lifted over the entire route on Tuesday October 29, 2024, during the official presentation in , the same day as for the men.

will be in the spotlight with a big departure planned for Saturday July 26, 2025 from before joining Plumelec (95 km). The next day, Sunday July 27, it’s – Quiberon (130 km) before the third stage starts from La Gacilly on Monday July 28.

Poitiers and a town in the agglomeration

For the rest, it is still the unknown for an event which will increase from eight to nine stages next year.

But, according to our information, and as suggested The New RepublicPress Center from July, Poitiers should welcome an intra muros arrival before a departure the next day, undoubtedly from a town in the conurbation, Chasseneuil holding the rope. These could be the fourth and fifth stages.

Contacted, Grand Poitiers, through Charles Reverchon-Billot, vice-president in charge of sporting events and high-level sport, did not wish to confirm or comment. Same story at ASO (Amaury Sport Organisation, organizing company of the event), with Franck Perque, technical director of the Tour de France women.

But this arrival and departure would make sense within a territory which saw the birth of FDJ-Suez, the only French team playing in the Women’s World Tour (1re global division).

The French team, based in Jaunay-Marigny, is also carrying out high-quality recruitment with the arrivals of the Swiss Elise Chabbey (31 years old, Canyon – SRAM Racing), the promising junior Célia Gery (18 years old), the French champion Juliette Labous (25 years old, Team DSM Firmenich Post NL), New Zealand sprinter Ally Wollaston (23 years old, AG Insurance – Soudal) and French hopeful Églantine Rayer (20 years old, Team DSM Firmenich Post NL ). While waiting for the probable recruitment of the Dutch Demi Vollering (Team SD Worx), one of the best cyclists of the moment.

Enough to shine at home if the arrival of the women’s Tour de France is confirmed. The response is now expected on October 29.
