The Espalais Cycling Union club organized the last Ufolep cycling grand prix of the season on Saturday September 28, named Sausage. There were 70 to be distributed to the different winners with two competitions in one: a time trial in the morning, the race following. Among the 260 registrations, there were around ten Valencians from Alva.
In the time trial, Jérémie Souton finished 8th in the scratch, 1’19” behind the Tarn winner Micheletto, but 2nd in his C2 category, Alain Guizard ranked 5th in C4.
During the Grand Prix, in the afternoon, Jérémie Souton confided, upon arrival, to Florian Bongiovanni’s microphone: “The first part of the 77 km to be covered was calm but accelerated in the second part. The finish was rule to my advantage in the sprint. There are three of us in 10 hundredths on the line!”
Two other friendlyists took the podium. Alain Guizard finished 3rd in C4, just like his comrade Sébastien Ménard in C3.
It should be noted that, in this Grand Prix de la Saucisse, only five Tarn-et-Garonnais climbed onto the senior podiums: the three Valenciens therefore, a rider from Causssade and another from Saint-Projet. This adds a little more value to the performance of our premises!
The 2024 road season therefore ended on a superb note for the Alva cyclosport. Now it’s time for cyclocross and mountain biking.
