It was a rainy and windy Paris-Tours that kicked off this Sunday in Chartres for this 2024 edition. While a breakaway took off, a few kerbs were recorded in the peloton before calm returned.
DIRECT. Paris-Tours 2024 rushed from Chartres this Sunday, October 6 at around 11:55 a.m. The rain and the wind were there. After several attacks, a breakaway of four riders took shape with Edoardo Affini (Visma-Lease a Bike), Mikel Retegi (Equipo Kern Pharma), Ceriel Desal (Bingoal WB) et Enzo Boulet (CIC U Nantes Atlantique) who took a little more than four minutes in advance. In the peloton, the elastic became taut and several breaks were reported. But everything quickly returned to normal even though the attempt at the edge was launched perhaps too far. At the same time, Arnaud De Lie (Lotto Dstny), one of the favorites of the day, suffered a fall before regaining his place in the peloton.

It was time for me and I am happy to have made this decision to stop at Paris-Tours. I feel like it’s the right time. I caught a cold last week, I’m not in optimal shape but it’s ok despite everything. I hope I can enjoy this day and help the team as much as possible. I like gravel sections and those kinds of races. I haven’t done Paris-Tours often, but I can’t wait to take part one last time. »
