. Vélorution: autumn by bike

The Vélorution in autumn colors took place in the rain, but in good spirits.

What is a Velorution? Anagram of revolution and bicycle, this name represents an international movement whose goal is to encourage citizens to adopt, as much as possible, an economical, practical, good for health, silent and non-polluting mode of transport for their daily travel. We will have to wait until October 2021 for to enter the Vélorution thanks to a group of amateur cyclists. Once a quarter, the “Vélorution de Tarbes” invites cyclists of all ages, genders and social categories to rediscover the city’s neighborhoods by bike. Implementation of a street code, spatial planning and consideration of cycling: these are the demands of Vélorution. “This ride is an opportunity for us, but also for the city, to put our finger on the traffic problems for bicycles,” says one of the organizers of the Vélorution de Tarbes. “On July 1, we proposed to the town hall a bicycle plan including a plan for the safety of all cyclists, even on the way to school or work, and a calendar of achievements over 10 years. ” For the new fall edition, the Vélorution attracted around twenty courageous cyclists. Despite the rain, they were able to take a stroll from rue Bertrand Barrère to the station via Place de la Providence to see the city’s beautiful achievements: the Arsenal district, rue Saint-Jean and the market Brauhauban. The evening ended with a friendly fruit juice.
