Young mountain bikers from the region challenge themselves

Cervieres. Young mountain bikers from the region confronted each other. The Noirs mountain bike club hosted the Departmental Trophy for Young Mountain Bikers (TDJV) last Saturday, an event combining sport and conviviality in the heart of the village.

This competition began with a unique round in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region: a semi-urban cross-country event which allowed the young participants to cycle through the paths and alleys of the village.

In the afternoon, the young mountain bikers demonstrated their agility during a trial event on natural and artificial areas. This challenge was crucial for the final ranking of the challenge bringing together the , Haute-Loire and Puy-de-Dôme.

The Haute-Loire club, Golène Évasion Triomphe caused a sensation and unfortunately, no podium for the Bois Noirs mountain bike.

The competition brought together 116 runners divided into different categories: 16 in U9, 28 in U11, 33 in U13, 27 in U15, and 12 in U17.

The big winners of the day were the riders from Golène Évasion, who won four first places as well as six places in the top 3 in all categories. Although the local riders from the VTT Club des Bois Noirs did not reach the podium during this event, they shone in the general classification of the Puy-de-Dôme challenge. Charlie Begon finished second in U9, and Colin Begon took second in U15.

This sports day would not have been possible without the commitment of around thirty volunteers, whose investment made it possible to create a successful event, combining competition and community spirit.
