Cycling. Road – Israel-Premier Tech sports manager leaves with immediate effect

After four years spent in the structure, the Belgian Rik Verbrugge will leave Israel-Premier Tech. Both parties have decided, by mutual agreement, to separate with immediate effect. After his retirement from sports in 2008, the father of Jens Verbrugge (Groupama-FDJ Conti) worked successively at Quick-Step BMC, IAM Cycling et Bahrain Merida before joining Israel Start-Up Nation in 2021 as a sports manager. He was also coach of the Belgium road team between 2019 and 2021.

“I really enjoyed my time with the team”

The Belgian explained himself in a press release issued by the team Israel-Premier Tech. “It has been a pleasure to be part of IPT over the past four years. Between the ups and downs, successes and challenges, I really enjoyed my time with the team. I will announce my plans for the future in due course“, says the former team rider Cofidis.

With the 2024 season coming to an end, Rik’s (Verbrugghe) role as sporting director would require him to focus on the season ahead.
