On Sunday evening, in front of 7.7 million viewers, the closing ceremony took the form of a huge electro party from the Stade de France with artists such as Jean-Michel Jarre and Kungs, while Santa launched the festivities with an epic cover of Johnny Hallyday. To say goodbye to the Olympic cauldron, Amadou and Mariam even sang “Je suis venu te dire que je m’en vais” by Serge Gainsbourg from the Tuileries Gardens. It’s now time to take stock, so Thomas Jolly was invited last night on the show “C à vous” to look back on the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, which took place on the Seine. “We welcome athletes from all over the world, we tell them: “Welcome to our home”. But who are we? We are a lot of people, plurality, diversity. (…) Our wish was to represent France in all its diversity. To give recognition and visibility to each and every one of us,” explained the director, who filed a complaint for cyberbullying, delighted to have brought together talents as diverse as Céline Dion, Aya Nakamura and Gojira.
