China and the rest of the world? The Beijing delegation at the Paris Paralympic Games has been collecting medals by the armful since the start of the competition. Figures that make your head spin: with 196 medals – 86 gold, 65 silver and 45 bronze – at the time of writing this article, Saturday, September 7, the Chinese delegation reigns supreme without competition on the medal table.
The United Kingdom and the United States, although second and third respectively, are far behind with 108 and 92 medals to their name. France (69 medals), for its part, seems light years away from this level of performance despite a convincing Olympics – it broke its record for medals won in Tokyo in 2021.
