GREEK FERVOR – At almost 32 years old, the shooting guard of the French team has opted for the challenge of Olympiakos in the Euroleague, which he will discover after his solid career in the NBA since 2012
It’s never too late to discover the fervor of certain Euroleague arenas. French international Evan Fournier, who will celebrate his 32nd birthday next month, has just revealed on Monday evening his arrival in the legendary Greek club Olympiakos. Like his often amusing communication on social networks, the shooting guard of the Blues announced the news in a surprising way, by bringing out one of his tweets dating back to May 2022: “If one day I had to return to Europe and I had the choice to go where I want, I think I would go to Olympiakos. It’s still a hell of a club.”
All with the updated comment of the day: “This day has come”. This return to Europe of Evan Fournier, author of only one season in Pro B with Nanterre (2009-2010) then two years in Poitiers in Pro A (2010-2012), constitutes a big surprise, as he had become a referenced player in the NBA, where he has systematically played for twelve seasons. Drafted in 2012 in 20th position by the Denver Nuggets, the French player had started his American dream at not even 20 years old.
