Amandine Fouquenet was around during the winter. This Sunday, for the final round of the Cyclo-cross World Cup in Hoogerheide, the member of Arkéa-B&B Hôtels finally entered the top ten (see ranking). “I'm really happy, I managed to get this Top 10 that I've been waiting for for a while. 7th place was close, it happened on the last lap”she confides on the microphone of DirectVelo.

However, at the start of the event, the 23-year-old cyclist was only in 20th position. “I didn't get off to a very good start. It was quite dangerous just after the footbridge. Girls fell in front of me. Suddenly, I found myself far away.” Then she entered the Top 10 at the end of the second of five laps and never left it and even found herself 7th at the end of the penultimate rotation. “I did a comeback run.”. She was at ease in the Dutch quagmire. “We're not used to seeing a circuit like that here. I had strength. Physically it wasn't bad and technically I felt really good.”

A good omen in anticipation of the World Championship in Liévin next weekend. “From now on, it will be recovery. I'm going home to and leaving on Thursday.” With why not a new Top 10 on French soil.
