These residents of Salins-les-Bains “don’t know what to do anymore”. Since the reopening of the rue Charles Magninwhich was partially closed due to sanitation work, the household waste bin of the Sictom Jura Est – organization responsible for the collection and processing of household waste in the Community of Communes Arbois, Poligny, Salins, Coeur du Jura – would no longer pass in the street.
Adrien Lavierresident of the commune, testifies to the difficulties encountered by her 92-year-old grandmother who lives on this street: “The garbage truck hasn't passed for two months. We have to find passages, sometimes climb stairs, to place the bins where we are sure that the agents will pass. For example, people bring their bins between Place Notre Dame and Rue de la Liberté for fear of not seeing them picked up. Whereas before the work, the truck always passed. »
“No one answers”
Recently, posters were stuck on bins located on rue Charles Magnin. A message, apparently from the Sitcom, is written there: Your bin must be placed at the collection point otherwise it will not be emptied. “But which collection point? », asks Adrien Lavier. “There is no collective contribution point for our street! We don't know where it is, or under what conditions it should be used. And when we call Sictom, no one answers. My grandmother is certainly independent, but at 92 years old, she is not going to run 500 meters one kilometer walk to throw away your trash,” he exclaims.
-A situation that adds to already existing anger due to the implementation of the incentive fee (billing users according to the quantities of waste they produce, editor's note) and the price surge. “It comes at a time when prices are increasing. We went from €110 to €156, but there is no question that we are paying for a service that does not work,” declares the Salinois. And added: “We are responsible residentswe take the time to take our bins out on good days, we sort them, we bring them in so as not to disturb the cars, and we have in front of us pitiful service. Not to mention the state of the household waste collection points, the trash cans are overflowingthere is trash lying around. » Note that for a 120 liter bin and the minimum number – 18 – of annual lifts, the price will amount to €164 in 2025.
The posters would “have no place”
Contacted by Voice of JuraSictom Jura Est assures “that there is no change in operation in this street” of Salins-les-Bains and that “the bins are well emptied”. “There may have been mistakes, but the agents returned. »
Asked about the posters stuck on the bins, the organization asserts that “they have no reason to exist. These are maybe stickers which were filed in error.
