After an already busy 2024 season, Victorie Guilman decided to take a break at Chambon this Sunday. The opportunity for the Charentaise to show off the colors of Saint-Michel-Mavic-Auber 93 one last time, since it will officially start its lease with Cofidis at 1is January.
You told us that you didn't know what you were getting yourself into before this cyclo-cross. How did this happen?
Victory Guilman. In the end, it was still pretty fun. There were a lot of people cheering me on. It warms my heart to hear his name throughout the circuit. Afterwards, the mud made the terrain very technical, it was very physical. I was talking to the boys who are used to this cyclo-cross, they told me that it was usually not so slippery. That’s how it is, we are cyclists, we ride in all weathers. For my part, I discovered my new bike this week. I wasn't necessarily comfortable. I think it was good training.
How did you feel about your current state of form?
I felt pretty good, even though it's a totally different exercise, like a time trial effort. It was quite long, 1h10, I don't think I've ever done that before. It is a long effort that must be managed well. It's early in the season, I haven't worked on these intensities yet, I've been doing basic training instead.
What is the program for your next weeks?
I have just returned from ten days of training in Spain. There was everyone, the men's and women's teams and even the disabled sports team. It was quite impressive but very nice because we were able to meet everyone, we were able to talk. I came out a little tired, we had a good training session. Since my return to Charente, where I come to spend the holidays, it's cooler. I will compete in my first race at the end of January, in Mallorca. There's a good month left to prepare for this.
