Next season, the Ixina-Grand Prix Oetingen will be the first women's ProSeries of the year in Belgium. A great rise for an event which is still young since in 2025, it will only be in its fifth edition. The organizers have considered the WorldTour, but prefer to concentrate on the second Cycling division. “It’s not a realistic ambition. There are already too many WorldTour events in Belgium. It’s better that we be a good Pro Series”asserts to DirectVelo organizer Steven Christiaens who is already assured of the participation of twelve of the fifteen WorldTeams. There will be several ProTeams at the start and two clubs: Van Eyck-Belco and Carbonbike Giordana.
For the 5th edition, the organizers have decided to innovate by changing the starting location which will be located in Sint-Pieters Leeuw. Then, the runners will return to Oetingen via the Congoberg and the Rensberg. Finally, they will have to complete five laps of the local circuit for a total distance of 140 kilometers.
Note that Stijn De Bock, Belgian Elites Champion without Contract in 2017, becomes the new race director. He replaces Ine Beyen, who remains active on the committee.
In 2024, Lorena Wiebes won the event for the second time after her success in 2022. Elisa Balsamo (2021) and Simone Boilard (2023) are the other names on the list. The fifth line will be written on Wednesday March 12, 2025.
