Nina Lavenu is finished with her Junior years. Member of the N1 Chambéry Cyclisme Compétition, she will discover the Continental level in 2025. “The 2024 season went rather well. I had set myself objectives at the start of the season which I managed to achieve. It's a very positive assessment. I discovered the N1 races with Chambéry which gave me learned a lot”. But it was with the French team that she took a further step, internationally. “It allows you to progress and then be able to perform at the European Championship and the World Cup”. And in addition to turning pro, these were precisely his goals for the year. “Since it was flat, I thought it wouldn't suit me. Finally, with my technical strengths, it worked out pretty well for me. On the flat, I'm starting to enjoy it and have fun”.
Finally 13th at the finish, this passage in Limburg was done without pressure. Unlike Zurich a few weeks later. “I put a little more pressure on myself at the World Cup and it didn't go as well. With the whole team, we learned a lot from these Championships, but we didn't come back with the expected result. We learned , we've all made mistakes.”. Nina Lavenu and her teammates, like her leader Célia Géry, were not there. But that doesn't mean everything has to be thrown away. “The French team was at the level to achieve a better result. There are circumstances and lots of things. We could do the race again. It's like that, but I have great memories of the cohesion in the French team We still had a very good season with Célia who won at the Tour of Flanders..
QUICKLY FIND THE BLUE JERSEY
-Nina Lavenu therefore feels ready to make the leap with AG Insurance-Soudal NXTG. “It’s great to race with other girls with a higher level and to be mentored like thatshe rejoices about the French team. From the Junior ranks, we achieve incredible professionalism. Many of us are turning pro, but it’s because the French team invests all that behind it as well as the French structures”. But it was from Belgium that the contact came for 2025. “They contacted me and it came to fruition at the end of the season. I knew I had to go to them before the Plouay Grand Prix. With my 3rd place there, it accelerated things, but it was already planned”. She has already been able to discover her new environment. “I already had a rally in Belgium, it went well, the team is super cool, the girls are open and professional”.
The 4th in the last French Championship will take the opportunity to refine her learning. “I was looking for this international atmosphere to progress in English and to see things different from France. I have a new trainer and a new training platform, I'm using TrainingPeaks. I'm seeing new things about nutrition, that's it. is interesting”. Now, she hopes that her path will guide her again towards a color that she knows well: the blue of the France team. “I would like to go back but I am aware that the level is very high in the Espoir category. I am only Espoir 1, I have to discover the races, see how I will progress… I would like to perform well, but I don't know the difference in level I will probably get slapped like at the beginning and sometimes it will get better.. In any case, Nina Lavenu hopes so.
